The gospel

What is the Gospel?
The word "Gospel" means "Good News," and it is the greatest news you will ever hear. It is the message of God’s love, grace, and redemption offered to all through Jesus Christ. The Gospel can be understood through four key stages: Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Restoration.

Creation

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." (Genesis 1:1)
God made us in His image (Genesis 1:27) to know Him, love Him, and walk with Him in perfect fellowship. We were created to live in harmony with God, one another, and creation itself.

Fall

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)
Sin entered the world when Adam and Eve chose to disobey God (Genesis 3), and as a result, all of humanity is born with a sinful nature. Sin causes separation from God, broken relationships, and death—both physical and spiritual (Romans 6:23). We are all in need of a Savior.

Redemption

"But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)
In His great love, God sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for our sins, taking the punishment that we deserved. Jesus' death and resurrection made it possible for us to be forgiven and reconciled to God. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).

Restoration

"If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away, and see, the new has come!" (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Through faith in Jesus, we are restored to the relationship with God that we were created for. God’s restoration plan begins here on earth as we experience forgiveness and new life, and it will be fully realized when Christ returns and makes all things new (Revelation 21:4). This is the hope of eternal life with God in heaven.

Repent and Believe: Your Response to the Gospel

The Bible tells us, "Repent and believe in the gospel." (Mark 1:15)
If God is speaking to your heart, don’t wait. Call out to Him. Repent of your sin, and believe in Jesus as your Savior and Lord. By faith, receive the forgiveness and new life He offers.
